According to FREEДOM:

Denmark's investments in the Ukrainian defense industry

In 2025, Denmark plans to invest about 1.5 billion euros in Ukraine's defense enterprises. This was reported on August 29 during an informal meeting of European Union defense ministers in Copenhagen by Denmark's Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen, notes the special correspondent of FREEДOM in Europe.

'The central theme of today's meeting was military support for Ukraine from the EU. The task is quite clear — Ukraine needs more military support, and it needs it right now. We do not have time. And if we do not act now, the costs will be significantly higher. In the long run, we simply have no choice,' states the Minister of Defense of Denmark.

He also spoke about the 'Danish model' of cooperation between his country and Ukraine.

'And the 'Danish model', I would say, has proven to be very successful. Last year, we were able to spend about 600 million euros under the 'Danish model' on direct investments in Ukraine's defense enterprises. I expect that this year we will be able to invest about 1.4 billion euros directly in Ukraine's defense enterprises. The experience gained is also very ambitious, I would say we have a lot to work on. First of all, the Ukrainian defense industry produces products very quickly compared to European companies. They are capable of producing products in months, not years,' emphasized Troels Lund Poulsen.

Plans for 'Danish Model 2.0'

He emphasized the importance of developing the 'Danish model number two'.

'Secondly, what I will mention today is what can be called the 'Danish model 2.0'. We hope that in a few weeks we will invite the first Ukrainian defense company to start production here in Denmark, in safe conditions. I also expect that this year other Ukrainian defense companies will join us. And this will also be a step forward in providing even greater support to Ukraine,' reported the head of Denmark's defense ministry.

Earlier, Belgium's Defense Minister Theo Francken noted that Belgium does not rule out the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine in the event of peace.

Denmark continues to strengthen cooperation with Ukraine, investing significant resources in the defense sector. These investments will not only improve Ukraine's defense industry but also contribute to the overall strengthening of security in the region. In the context of the current military situation, such support is of great importance for Ukraine, which seeks to enhance its defense capabilities.
