Ukrainian paracyclist Yehor Dementiev became the 2024 world champion in road cycling in the group race in class C5.
At the finish, he showed a Time of 2.15,02, ahead by fractions of a second of American Eluan Garde, who received silver, and Brazilian Lauro Chaman, who took third place.
This is Dementiev's second award at this world championship: earlier he won bronze in the individual time trial.
The world championships in paracycling are held together with the world championships among Olympians and attract athletes from 49 countries. Ukraine is represented by 2 athletes, reports the press service of the National Committee for Sports for the Disabled of Ukraine.
The world championship is taking place in Zurich, Switzerland.
