New $270 Monthly Bonus for Ukrainian Rear-Echelon Troops: Who Qualifies.
Additional Pay for Support Personnel
According to Novyny.live: Starting in July 2026, Ukrainian service members assigned to rear-area duties will receive a new bonus of 10,000 hryvnias (approximately $270) added to their base pay. This directive, issued by Ukraine's Ministry of Defense under Order No. 232 dated June 30, 2026, raises the minimum monthly compensation for these troops to 30,000 hryvnias. The funds are expected to be disbursed by July 20, 2026.
However, not all personnel are eligible. The following categories of service members will not receive the additional payment:
- those temporarily absent from their military unit,
- individuals awaiting reassignment under commanders' authority,
- cadets undergoing training,
- personnel assigned to rotating rosters.
Consequently, this benefit applies exclusively to active rear-echelon troops who are currently fulfilling their duties.
Family Support Initiatives
In addition, the government provides over 17,000 hryvnias per child for the health and recreation of military families. These measures highlight the state's ongoing efforts to bolster both service members and their relatives during the prolonged conflict.
The introduction of this rear-echelon bonus reflects a broader policy aimed at improving social welfare and troop motivation. By increasing financial incentives, the government seeks to strengthen morale and loyalty among support personnel. Furthermore, the family assistance programs underscore a commitment to the well-being of service members' loved ones, recognizing the sacrifices made by military households throughout the war.
