Ukrainian Railways Adds Four Extra Trains and Extends a Route to Yaremche.
Ukrainian Railways Boosts Service with Additional Trains
According to Novyny.live: To meet surging passenger demand in late March and early April, Ukrainian Railways has introduced four extra services and extended one route to the popular Carpathian resort of Yaremche. This move aims to improve travel options during a period of high rail usage, often driven by spring holidays and seasonal tourism.
The additional trains began operating on March 29. The new services include:
- Train No. 220/219 Kyiv – Dnipro, departing from both Kyiv and Dnipro;
- Train No. 289/290 Kyiv – Lviv, departing from both Kyiv and Lviv;
- Train No. 168/167 Lviv – Odesa;
- An extra train No. 243/244 Kyiv – Lviv, scheduled for March 30 and 31.
Route Extension to Yaremche
Furthermore, Ukrainian Railways has extended one existing service—Train No. 207/208—177/178 Kyiv – Ivano-Frankivsk—to Yaremche. This train will start running on April 2. It departs from Kyiv at 10:00 PM and arrives in Yaremche at 8:30 AM. The return trip leaves Yaremche at 9:00 AM, reaching Kyiv at 7:54 PM. The Yaremche train will operate daily, except on April 5, 6, 7, 20, 21, and 22.
Additionally, the regional train No. 812/811 Yaremche – Vorokhta will run on April 3–5, April 9–12, April 19, and April 27–29. Tickets for all additional trains are already available on the Ukrainian Railways website and mobile app, allowing passengers to conveniently plan their trips during this peak travel period.
This decision by Ukrainian Railways reflects the growing need for rail transportation, especially during holidays and vacation periods when traveler numbers traditionally spike.
The extra services are expected to significantly ease passenger flow, reducing strain on main routes and ensuring more comfortable travel conditions.
