Chocolate sets have fallen in price: where to buy most advantageously before Christmas.
According to The Sun: If you have already started stocking up for Christmas, we have useful information for you.
The newspaper The Sun analyzed prices for chocolate sets in supermarkets this week.
Christmas sweets have already appeared in many supermarkets in the UK, but their prices can differ significantly.
Although Asda recently reduced the prices of Christmas packages, another store managed to offer the best deals.
Best Offer
Members of the Sainsbury’s Nectar loyalty program can buy Nestle Celebrations, Quality Street, Cadbury’s Heroes, and Roses for only £4.50 each.
Thus, loyalty card holders can purchase all four sets for £18, instead of £28 without the Nectar card.
In second place for advantageous offers is Asda, where loyalty cards are not needed.
There, shoppers can buy two sets of Nestle for £4.42 each, while both Cadbury options cost slightly more — £4.92.
The total cost of one set from each type will be £18.68, which is close to Sainsbury’s offer.
Holders of Tesco Clubcard can buy Celebrations for £4.50, while Heroes and Roses are reduced to £5.25.
Furthermore, shoppers can get a set of Quality Street at the new reduced price — £3.95.
Thus, the total cost of one set of all four will be £18.95.
This package contains Quality Street, famous for its colorful candies in a purple box.
Among the flavors are Strawberry Delight and Chocolate Toffee Finger, which have become icons of Christmas sweets from Quality Street.
Roses, named after Cadbury’s beloved flowers, are also part of the offer.
The blue box of Roses contains flavors such as Hazel Whirl, Golden Barrel, Strawberry Dream, Caramel, Country Fudge, Signature Truffle, Tangy Orange Creme, and Cadbury Dairy Milk Chunk.
Cadbury’s Heroes are also on sale, which include beloved chocolate bars such as Crunchie Bits, Twirl, Wispa, Dinky Decker, Fudge, Dairy Milk Caramel, and classic mini Dairy Milk bars.
How to Save on Chocolate
We all love chocolate, but there is no need to spend a fortune on favorite bars.
Consumer goods reporter Sam Walker shares how to cut costs...
- Choose own brand – If taste isn’t important to you, go for supermarket own brand chocolate bars.
- Compare prices – Once you find your favorite chocolate in a supermarket, check if it is cheaper elsewhere.
- Websites like Trolley.co.uk help compare prices across different chains.
- Look for yellow stickers – Supermarket staff place yellow, sometimes orange or red stickers on discounted goods.
- This is usually done if the product is close to its expiration date or if the packaging is slightly damaged.
- Buy larger bars – Often, chocolate in large packs is cheaper per 100g.
Finally, Nestle Celebrations include mini versions of favorite bars such as Twix, Milky Way, Mars, Galaxy, Galaxy Caramel, Maltesers, Bounty, and Snickers.
Other Offers
If you don’t have Sainsbury’s, Asda, or Tesco nearby, the next best deal is at Morrisons.
Here, customers will pay £7 for Celebrations and Quality Street, although there is a discount on Cadbury sets.
You can buy two sets of Heroes and/or Roses for just £8, with a maximum of two sets per customer.
The total cost of all four sets will be £22.
Meanwhile, Ocado offers the same price of £7, but without Roses in stock, customers can also take advantage of the “two for £10” deal.
Iceland also has Celebrations, Quality Street, and Heroes sets for £7, but without Roses.
Aldi offers Quality Street sets for £5.49, but the other three options have not yet appeared on the shelves.
