Umerov dismissed the leadership of defense procurement: the minister voiced the reason.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced changes in the field of defense procurement. Over the past six months, political games and leaks of information about contracts have spread, causing the army to not receive proper supply of ammunition. Arms orders, which were supposed to be confidential, have turned into a public process, in which details were known to every internet user. To resolve this issue, the minister decided to dismiss his deputy and not renew the contract with another representative. Two government representatives were also recalled from the Supervisory Board, and a new director of the Defense Procurement Agency was appointed in their place.
In Ukraine, the procedure for deferring conscription has been simplified according to a Cabinet of Ministers resolution. Now, in case of an extension of conscription, it is automatically extended if there are legal grounds. In addition, new rules for medical examinations have been introduced, which provide for a repeated examination for citizens recognized as unfit for military service. Soldiers have also been given the opportunity to return to service without criminal liability through a special application 'Army+'.
