Avoid mobilization, beat with a rod...». The director of the social services center told who is denied adoption.
Avoiding mobilization, domestic violence, and partner uncertainty are reasons why children are denied adoption. This was announced by Natalia Ibragimova, Director of the Kyiv Regional Center for Social Services.
The director shared examples when couples were refused adoption for various reasons. In one couple, one partner wanted to adopt a child, but his wife did not want to have children. In another family, they were refused due to belonging to a religious denomination where beating with a rod is the norm.
However, according to Ibragimova, such people can reapply in a year.
The director also spoke about how some families devise schemes that allow children to remain without proper upbringing, but on paper, they have guardians or custodians.
In one such case, a boy's brother wrote a statement that he would be his guardian, hiding from mobilization. But at the same Time, he lives 150 km from the boy. However, the director of the service has no right not to accept documents and not to conduct training with such a guardian.
We remind you that after the adoption of the law on strengthening mobilization, changes were made regarding the right to deferment for parents with many children.
Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets stated that Kyiv officials sent their close relatives abroad as escorts for orphans and children deprived of parental care. After that, the men resigned from their positions.
However, the Children's and Family Affairs Service of the Kyiv City State Administration stated that this information is based on assumptions and is not confirmed by concrete facts.
