The government reviews the conditions of the 'National Cashback': what will change for 8 million Ukrainians.
Plan to review the 'National Cashback' program
According to TSN.ua: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to review the conditions of the 'National Cashback' program, which provides a 10% return on the cost of purchasing Ukrainian-made goods. Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev reported the possibility of adjusting the cashback percentage, which could affect a significant number of Ukrainians.
Program participants and impact on the economy
Currently, there are 8.2 million Ukrainians participating in the program, who can receive cashback on their purchases. The share of Ukrainian goods in the average consumer receipt has increased from 65% to 75%, indicating the growing popularity of domestic products among the population. The program features around 400,000 Ukrainian-made products from nearly 2,000 manufacturers.
Funds from the 'National Cashback' card, issued through 'Diia', must be used by June 30, 2026. This gives Ukrainians the opportunity to support the domestic economy and benefit from their purchases. Further changes in the program's conditions may significantly impact the number of people using this initiative.
Changes in the 'National Cashback' program could have a significant impact not only on the consumer habits of Ukrainians but also on the economy of the country as a whole. The increase in the share of Ukrainian goods in the consumer receipt indicates positive dynamics in supporting domestic producers. The review of the program's conditions may be an attempt to adapt to economic realities and ensure its effectiveness in the long term.
