Ukraine Launches Task Force to Resume Airport Operations.
Reviving Ukraine’s Airports
According to Novyny.live: Preparations are underway in Ukraine to restart airport services, with a dedicated task force established to craft proposals for resuming civilian flights and safeguarding infrastructure. The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development initiated the creation of this group, aiming to accelerate airport recovery following the full-scale invasion. This move signals a critical step toward restoring normalcy and economic activity in the country.
Deputy Minister Serhiy Derkach of the Ministry of Development leads the task force, which includes experts Serhiy Batechko, Mykola Boyko, and others. Their primary mission is to develop recommendations for reopening Ukrainian airports. According to specialists, local airfields could become operational within one to two months.
It is worth noting that airports have consistently reported ongoing staff training, as well as efforts to maintain valid certifications, licenses, and permits.
As Bohdan Dolintse stated, 'they need between one and one-and-a-half to two months to restore the capacity to handle civilian passenger and cargo flights.'
The Importance of Airport Recovery
Thus, current efforts are focused on ensuring the safety and functionality of airports in Ukraine, which represents a vital step in reviving civil aviation.
Restoring airports in Ukraine after hostilities is essential for rebuilding the country’s transportation network and economy. Safe and operational airports would support not only domestic travel but also the renewal of international air links, crucial for attracting investment and boosting tourism.
The successful execution of this initiative could stand as a powerful symbol of Ukraine’s broader recovery.
