Expansion of the List of Medicines
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Health has announced an expansion of the list of medicines that can be obtained through managed access agreements. Three new drugs for the treatment of oncological diseases are now available for free to patients who need therapy for breast cancer, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and acute myeloid leukemia.
- Pablociclib - for the treatment of breast cancer in women;
- Inotuzumab ozogamicin - for patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia;
- Gemtuzumab ozogamicin - for patients with acute myeloid leukemia.
Thanks to agreements with manufacturers, these drugs have been successfully procured under the managed access mechanism. Contracts signed for three years provide for the supply of medicines until the end of the year.
Thus, the government has expanded access to medicines by adding three new oncological drugs to the list available for purchase under managed access agreements. This decision provides patients with serious diseases the opportunity to receive necessary therapy for free, ensuring access to innovative medicines at affordable prices.
Thanks to this step, patients with cancer will receive important support in their treatment. The expansion of the list of drugs available for free highlights the state's commitment to improving treatment conditions for people battling severe illnesses and gives them hope for recovery.
