Unfortunate Situation for Robert McIntyre

According to The Sun: Robert McIntyre was insulted after his performance at the Ryder Cup when American fans did not hesitate to express their dissatisfaction with his game.

Together with Viktor Hovland, McIntyre returned after 11 holes with three lost points but could only level the match against Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.

At hole 17, McIntyre heard a shout from the crowd during his shot: “you bloody w***er” – a term not often used in Britain.

To defend his unbeaten record at the Ryder Cup since last year in Rome, McIntyre found himself in a bunker.

The Americans won an important hole and took a 1-point lead before the final hole.

McIntyre referred to Donald Trump during the press conference before the match as “just another spectator”.

The 29-year-old Scot also received jokes during the warm-up before the first shot when one of the fans asked: “Have you ever run?”

Match Results

The European duo of Vic and Bob could not secure the final hole, leading to Schauffele and Cantlay winning the match by 2 points.

Most spectators at the Bethpage Black Course came to support the final match as Europe took the first 3 points.

Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, along with Ludwig Aberg and Matt Fitzpatrick, won their matches with scores of 4&3 and 5&3 at the 15th hole.

Europe had no chance of finishing the away round of the Ryder Cup without losses, which is why the incident involving McIntyre prevented a historic outcome.
