US Women's National Team player Savannah DeMelo hospitalized after collapse on the field.
Incident with Savannah DeMelo
According to The Sun: Star of the US women's soccer team Savannah DeMelo was hospitalized after losing consciousness during a match of the National Women's Soccer League over the weekend.
The 27-year-old midfielder of Racing Louisville required prolonged treatment after this alarming incident that occurred during stoppage time of the first half in the match against Seattle Reign.

The match was stopped after DeMelo was taken to the hospital.
NWSL confirmed that the player is currently in stable condition.
“Savannah is in stable condition and conscious, receiving the necessary assistance. Our first priority is her health and safety. We are in close contact with the medical team of Racing Louisville.”
Racing Louisville reported that the remainder of the match, which was suspended with the score 0-0, will be played later.
Seattle Reign also expressed their support, stating:
“Sending all our love to Savannah DeMelo and everyone at Racing Lou FC. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Louisville at this time and thank our fans for their support.”
DeMelo's medical issues
Savannah joined Racing Louisville in 2022 and has played for the US women's national team in seven matches.
Previously, she left the field during a game against Bay FC in March due to chest pain and dizziness.
DeMelo later shared that she was diagnosed with Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism.
“Playing a 90-minute game was unbearable. I would get to the 25th minute, and my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. I felt so exhausted.”
Now the team awaits Savannah's quick recovery and hopes her positive condition will be good news for all fans. This incident once again highlighted the importance of attention to athletes' health and the medical response at sporting events.
