The volume of drone production in Russia continues to grow, indicates the Institute for the Study of War. According to the report, the Kremlin actively shows its readiness to improve the use of drones in military operations in Ukraine, trying to compensate for the social and economic consequences of the protracted war.

"The Kremlin continues to signal its commitment to improving Russian operations using drones in Ukraine and the capabilities of drone production amid efforts aimed at compensating for the social and economic consequences of the protracted Russian war," the report says.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the country's Military-Industrial Commission and discussed increasing drone production. He emphasized that drones have become an integral part of modern warfare, especially after the conflict in Ukraine.

According to Putin, Russian companies will supply 140,000 drones to Russian troops by 2023, and production will increase tenfold to 1.4 million units by 2024.

The president also emphasized the need for continuous growth in drone production in Russia, as well as increasing the efficiency of their use for military needs.

Research by DW indicates that some Russian irregular forces may be using new drones to attack civilians in Ukraine to reduce testing Time.

Experts note that Russian private drone production initiatives often prove to be more effective than state projects.

"Putin's plans to produce 1.4 million drones in 2024 are less than Ukraine's plans for this period. Ukraine plans to produce two million drones in 2024," the report says.
