The businessman’s Ukrainian affairs are related to corruption and fraud in a company engaged in agricultural product trading worth more than 60 million dollars, as well as money laundering.
According to La Repubblica, the Russian re-invested part of the illegally obtained funds and, through a trust company, acquired ownership of a company that owns a "large and luxurious real estate complex" in Florence worth 3 million euros.
Four other properties worth almost 38 million were also confiscated. According to the media, the businessman acquired the 12th century Torre del Gallo castle.
