Drivers in Odesa Face Fines for Banned Right-Lane Turn Near Chumka.
New Traffic Sign Installed in Odesa
According to Novyny.live: A new traffic regulation has taken effect on Vodoprovidna Street near the Chumka area. Authorities have installed a sign labeled 5.16, titled 'Lane Direction,' which prohibits making a turn from the right lane toward Vysokyi Lane. This measure is designed to improve road safety in that section of the city.
Traffic Rules and Penalties
Under the updated rules, drivers are no longer permitted to turn right from the right lane in the direction of Vysokyi Lane. Violating this sign carries a fine of 340 hryvnias. If the infraction leads to a dangerous situation on the road, the penalty can increase substantially, and the driver may lose their license for a period ranging from six months to one year.
Local authorities in Odesa have introduced this change as part of broader efforts to enhance traffic safety. With rising vehicle numbers and a higher frequency of accidents, such regulations aim to reduce risks for all road users. It is crucial for drivers to stay informed about these updates and comply with the rules to avoid accidents and fines.
