Neo-Nazis in Russia Attacked Synagogue in Obninsk: Details of the Attack.
On the evening of August 12, in the city of Obninsk, located on the outskirts of Moscow, a group of neo-Nazis set fire to a Jewish synagogue. The incident was recognized by representatives of the "Autonomous Combat Group of the International Movement for Racial Resistance NS/WP (FLC)".
Consequences of the Attack
Criminalists established that the attackers threw a Molotov cocktail into the building of the synagogue. The doors and porch of the structure sustained fire damage, which was quickly extinguished. The reasons for the attack have not been clarified, but the neo-Nazis confirmed their involvement in the incident.
The seizure of the synagogue by this radical group indicates a rise in xenophobia and anti-Semitism in several countries. Such events require an immediate response from the authorities and society to prevent similar attacks in the future.
