Kulan in Odesa region
Ecologists have reported that five kulan were born in the wild in Odesa region. This is the first offspring of these animals in Ukraine since their return to the steppe. Experts emphasize the successful adaptation of kulan to their new environment and their sense of safety.
'We are proud that we managed to return kulan to the Tatarbunary steppe - one of the largest areas of wild steppe in Europe', the organization wrote.
To ensure protection for the rare animals and plants that grow only in the Tatarbunary steppe, activists are calling for this area to be granted national park status 'Budzhak Steppes'.
