Bronze scrap prices are rising: how much they pay per kilogram in different regions of Ukraine.
Ukrainians can profitably sell bronze scrap for recycling. Structures containing the relevant alloy of non-ferrous metals (tin, aluminum, nickel, zinc) are accepted at a high price in various regions. Demand is high, as the raw material boasts sought-after physicochemical properties.
The Novyny.LIVE website reports how much bronze scrap costs in Ukraine as of early August 2025.
What is the price of bronze scrap in August
The alloy of non-ferrous metals is characterized by high corrosion resistance, strength, ease of processing, and malleability. Due to these properties, bronze is used as a raw material in various industries, such as for the production of automotive components, jewelry, and more.
The price of scrap depends on many factors, the main ones being the current market situation, composition and quality of the alloy, degree of contamination, and weight of the structure. Acceptance points usually buy whole products like springs, wires, hardware, engineering parts, tubes, or plumbing. However, they also do not refuse bronze shavings.
As of August 1, the average prices for bronze scrap (per kilogram) in different regions of Ukraine are as follows:
- Kyiv region — between 160 and 190 UAH;
- Vinnytsia region — between 160 and 200 UAH;
- Dnipro region — between 185 and 210 UAH;
- Zaporizhzhia region — between 170 and 216 UAH;
- Mykolaiv region — between 200 and 215 UAH;
- Odesa region — between 175 and 205 UAH;
- Sumy region — between 160 and 190 UAH;
- Kharkiv region — between 180 and 200 UAH.
What is happening to scrap prices in the world
As of July 2025, the global scrap market could boast stability and slight price increases in Turkey, the USA, and China. The market felt pressure due to weak demand for rebar, while currency fluctuations combined with raw material shortages played a role. These factors combined and reflected on the price.
The key factors shaping prices in the EU were reduced consumption, cautious buyer behavior, and a shortage of certain categories of raw materials. Market participants expect stabilization in August; however, overall market activity will remain low until the end of the vacation season, as reported by the specialized portal GMK Center.
Meanwhile, in the USA, prices increased minimally, and domestic demand remained stable despite geopolitical risks. For China, July ended with improved sentiment in the steel industry, although imports proved weak due to tax pressures.
What else should Ukrainians know
Let us remind you that Ukrainians can profitably sell scrap of ferrous metals, selling steel, cast iron, and iron. Prices range from 4 to 6 UAH per kilogram. It is best to sell black metal in large volumes, as it is relatively easy to find at home.
We also noted that copper plays a key role in the development of 'green' energy, and by 2040 global demand for it will increase by 50%. Giant metal deposits — over 45 million tons — have been discovered in southern Tibet, formed as a result of tectonic collisions millions of years ago.
The popularity of bronze scrap in Ukraine is explained by its high value and wide range of applications in industry. Prices for metal in different regions of the country vary, but overall they remain stable. Globally, there is also an increase in prices for scrap, but consumers hope for the stabilization of the situation in the future.Read also
