Ukraine to Implement New Wi-Fi 6E Standard: What This Means.
Ukraine will allow the use of Wi-Fi 6E technology.
This was reported by the press service of the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCRCI).
The NCCRCI proposed to the Ministry of Digital Transformation to implement Wi-Fi 6E radio technology (5945-6425 MHz) in Ukraine. The frequencies were added to the Plan for the Distribution and Use of the Radio Frequency Spectrum.
"Increasing capacity for Wi-Fi networks (480 MHz of additional spectrum) means higher speeds, lower latency, and the simultaneous transmission of much larger volumes of information for Wi-Fi users," explained the NCCRCI.
Ukraine plans to implement a new Wi-Fi 6E radio equipment standard based on the European model - without assigning a radio frequency, but on the basis of general authorization.
In July 2024, the European Business Association approached the Ukrainian government with a request to implement this technology. It is known that Wi-Fi 6E is already used in most countries worldwide, except some countries in Africa, including the European Union.
Several countries are already considering the possibility of implementing the next Wi-Fi 7 technology (6425-7125 MHz).
Earlier, a preventive measure was reported in Kyiv and the possibility of banning GSM communication during a blackout.
