The minimum wage will increase in 2026: how much payments will rise.
According to ТСН: In Ukraine, the minimum wage will increase by 5% in 2026. The government has also decided to raise salaries for social workers.
It is expected that the minimum wage will rise from 8000 UAH to 8647 UAH. The subsistence minimum will also increase: from 3065 UAH to 3209 UAH.
Social Workers' Salaries
The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to raise salaries for specialists in the field of social and rehabilitation services. This decree will take effect on January 1. There are about 80 thousand such specialists working in Ukraine.
“Increasing the wages of social workers is a step towards fair support for those who support others every day,” said the Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity, Denys Uliutin.
The new calculations of salaries will apply a coefficient of 2.5, which will ensure an increase of 150% in 2026.
The expected salary increases look like this:
social manager (15th salary grade): 20,607 UAH instead of 8,243 UAH;
social work specialist (12th salary grade): 16,932 UAH instead of 6,773 UAH;
junior nurse (4th salary grade): 10,145 UAH instead of 4,058 UAH.
In addition, in March 2026, pensions in Ukraine are scheduled to be indexed. In total, the state budget provides for UAH 251.3 billion for 10.3 million pensioners. Part of this money will go to indexing, although not all pensioners will receive payment increases.
The increase in the minimum wage and salaries for social workers indicates the government's efforts to provide better working conditions for those working in important social sectors. This will change the financial situation of thousands of Ukrainians and is expected to have a positive impact on the overall standard of living. Indexing pensions will be an important support for many elderly people, although not all pensioners will be able to take advantage of these changes.
