Electricity Prices in Ukraine From April 1: Who Qualifies for a 50% Discount and What Households Will Pay.
Ukraine's Electricity Tariff Update as of April 1, 2026
According to Novyny.live: Starting in April 2026, residential electricity rates in Ukraine will be set at 4.32 UAH per kWh. This price remains in effect until April 30, 2026, giving households a predictable cost to factor into their monthly budgets. The rate is consistent with the standard tariff applied earlier in the year.
Available Pricing Plans for Consumers
Ukrainian households can choose from several tariff options to reduce their electricity bills:
- Night-time rate: 2.16 UAH per kWh, valid from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Two-zone rate: 4.32 UAH per kWh, active from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
- Three-zone rate:
- 1.73 UAH per kWh from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM;
- 6.48 UAH per kWh from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
- Preferential rate for households using electric heating:
- 2.64 UAH per kWh for consumption up to 2,000 kWh;
- 4.32 UAH per kWh for any usage above that threshold.
On May 1, 2026, the standard tariff will revert to 4.32 UAH per kWh. This means consumers have a window to take advantage of lower rates before the summer season begins, after which the base price returns. By adjusting their energy usage habits to align with these plans, households can lower their costs—a crucial benefit given the current economic climate in Ukraine.
Overall, the tariff stability from April through May 2026 offers a measure of financial predictability for families. Those who strategically shift consumption to off-peak hours or opt for the electric heating discount stand to save significantly, helping to ease the burden of rising living expenses.
