Detained suspect in the murder of Parubiy: police revealed details of the crime.

According to inkorr.com: The National Police of Ukraine published photographs of the detention of the suspect in the murder of the former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Parubiy.

The head of the National Police, Ivan Vygivsky, shared the photos on his Facebook page, noting that the suspect had long planned the murder, carefully observing the victim. According to him, the law enforcement officers needed only 36 hours to identify and detain the criminal.

“On August 30 in the Frankivsky district of Lviv, he disguised himself as a courier and opened fire on the politician in broad daylight. Eight shots. Cold-blooded cruelty. He even made sure that the victim was dead. Then he tried to cover his tracks – changed clothes, disposed of the weapon, and attempted to hide in Khmelnychchyna,” said the head of the National Police.

Vygivsky emphasized that despite attempts to escape, the criminal could not avoid punishment.

“The round-the-clock work of the police in Lviv region and the central office of the National Police yielded results — the audacious murderer has been detained, necessary evidence has been collected. We know: this crime is not random. It has a Russian trail. Everyone will answer before the law,” summarized the head of the National Police.

Escape from the scene of the crime

In Lviv, on August 30, 2025, during the shooting, an unknown shooter, disguised as a courier, fired several times at Andriy Parubiy, who died on the spot from his injuries.

After the crime, the shooter escaped on an electric bicycle, triggering a special operation called “Siren.” Only 36 hours after the murder, the suspect was detained in the Khmelnytsky region.

Law enforcement officials do not rule out political motives in the murder of Parubiy, as he opposed Russian interference. Various versions are being considered, including a possible Russian connection.
