The Verkhovna Rada has increased the childbirth assistance to 50 thousand: what will change.
According to inkorr.com: On November 5, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law under which childbirth assistance in Ukraine will increase to 50 thousand hryvnias. The rumors about this were confirmed by the parliament's press service and MP Danilo Hetmantsev on Telegram.
The purpose of this law is to support families during pregnancy, after childbirth, and in the initial stages of raising a child, as well as to improve the demographic situation by allowing parents to combine family life with professional activities.
Bill No. 13532 provides for the increased payments to take effect from January 1, 2026.
What's new
Among the main innovations:
- Women without medical insurance will receive 7 thousand hryvnias in assistance during pregnancy and childbirth.
- The one-time payment after the birth of a child will amount to 50 thousand hryvnias.
- Parents will be able to choose between a 'Baby Package' or a cash compensation.
- The monthly assistance for infant care will be 7 thousand hryvnias.
- The introduction of the 'eNursery' program for children aged 2 to 3 years is planned.
- Assistance will also be provided to families raising children with disabilities.
- From 2028, the 'eKindergarten' program for children aged 4 to 6 years will start.
- One-time assistance for first graders in the amount of 5 thousand hryvnias is provided.
The increase in childbirth assistance to 50 thousand hryvnias, approved by the Verkhovna Rada, is aimed at improving the living conditions of families, supporting the demographic situation, and promoting the development of social programs for children of various ages.
