Ukraine’s Parliament Passes National Resistance Law: Schoolchildren to Be Trained Starting Early.
National Resistance Training Program Launched
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine is introducing a national resistance training program for its citizens, which includes the establishment of specialized training centers and new school curricula. The Verkhovna Rada has approved a law aimed at ensuring the population is adequately prepared for potential threats.
As part of this initiative, dedicated training centers will be set up where citizens can learn the fundamentals of national resistance. Live-fire exercises will take place at Ukrainian Armed Forces ranges, and interactive simulators will also be used to allow participants to practice skills in a safe environment.
National Resistance 2026 Forum
These measures were discussed during the nationwide 'National Resistance 2026' forum held in Kyiv on March 25. At the event, Maksym Zhorin emphasized that Ukrainians need to be prepared for resistance from adolescence, highlighting the seriousness of the approach to national security.

The forum featured various experts, including:
- economic analyst Mykhailo Krutikhin,
- journalist Serhiy Auslender,
- MP Andriy Vitrenko.
The discussion covered not only national resistance topics but also the situation in the Middle East, including Iranian strikes on Haider, Tel Aviv, and Kiryat Shmona, the Iran-US standoff, the US peace plan for Iran, and other international issues.
These new initiatives in Ukraine are designed to boost the population’s readiness for challenges that may arise in the current geopolitical climate.
Introducing national resistance training represents a critical step in strengthening the country’s defense capabilities amid growing threats from external aggressors as well as internal challenges. Involving young people in learning the basics of national security underscores Ukraine’s strategy for long-term preparation and fostering the civic awareness needed to ensure stability and safety.
