Reimbursement for Vacation and Medical Treatment Costs

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainians can claim reimbursement for expenses on vacations and medical treatments at sanatoriums if they purchased the voucher with their own money. This program applies to war veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their family members.

Who Qualifies for the Reimbursement

The following groups are eligible for compensation:

  • War veterans
  • Military personnel serving in combat zones
  • Family members of those who died in service
  • Former prisoners of war and individuals missing in action

It is important to note that the reimbursement only covers stays at officially recognized sanatorium-resort facilities that provide medical and wellness services. Payments are made based on actual expenses incurred, with a cap of 1,500 UAH per bed-night for adults and 750 UAH per bed-night for children.

Compensation can be claimed for treatment lasting up to 14 days, and no more than once per year. To apply, you must submit a written request addressed to the head of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration. Required documents include:

  • Proof of payment for the treatment
  • The voucher stub
  • A copy of your passport
  • A copy of your tax identification number (RNOKPP)
  • Documents verifying your eligible status
  • Bank account details

Eligible family members include spouses, children under 18, children aged 18 to 23, parents, legal guardians, and custodians. This initiative aims to support those affected by the hardships of war, offering a chance to recuperate in sanatoriums.

Introducing compensation for treatment and vacations for veterans and their families marks a significant step in strengthening social protections for this group. It not only helps improve the physical well-being of combat participants but also provides essential psychological rehabilitation, which is critical in the post-war period. Ensuring that the application process remains simple and accessible for all who need this assistance is vital.
