At 22:55, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the Dykanka area, moving westward toward Myrhorod.
Vitaliy Danyknych, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, confirmed at 23:29 that air defense systems were active in the region. By 23:36, air raid alerts had also been extended to the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv oblasts. These alerts are a frequent and grim reality for Ukrainians, signaling the persistent threat of aerial attacks across the country.
Incidents in Mykolaiv and Regional Context
Explosions were also recorded in Mykolaiv during the night of February 25. These events occur against a backdrop of sustained shelling in other regions, such as Odesa. Over the four years of the full-scale invasion, Odesa has endured 193 shelling attacks, resulting in the deaths of 145 civilians, including ten children. The situation remains tense, with local authorities urging residents to adhere to safety protocols.
The explosions in Poltava and Mykolaiv underscore the escalating tensions in a region where military conflict continues unabated.
The declaration of air raid alerts across multiple oblasts points to the ongoing threat posed by unmanned aerial vehicles, necessitating constant readiness from air defense units. Local officials continue to call for public vigilance and strict observance of safety measures, as attacks on civilian areas remain a severe problem in Ukraine. This highlights the critical need for bolstering defensive capabilities and maintaining civilian preparedness for emergencies.
