Frontline cities left without compensation for destroyed housing: how people survive.
In frontline cities, there is no compensation for destroyed housing, so local residents are forced to restore their homes on their own.
Which frontline cities receive compensation
'As for cities like Orihiv, Huliaipole, Stepnohirsk, no assistance is provided there. These cities are being almost completely destroyed by the Russians, and often people who remain living there have to somehow restore their damaged homes on their own', - said deputy of the Zaporizhzhia District Council Alisa Sysoieva.
According to Sysoieva, several assistance programs are in place in Zaporizhzhia, depending on property ownership and citizen categories.
In case of complete destruction of housing, assistance can be obtained through 'eRecovery'. In cases of partial damage, building materials are immediately provided, utility workers board up windows with planks or cover the roof with film. Owners of destroyed housing receive 10,000 hryvnias per month for rent until recovery or obtaining a certificate for new housing.
It is noteworthy that the Russian army carried out 585 strikes on 11 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region in one day, resulting in 21 cases of destruction.
Russia also attacked the city of Chuhuiv, damaging a building and injuring people.
Unfortunately, in frontline cities that have become targets of Russian aggression, residents do not receive compensation for destroyed housing, so they have to restore their homes at their own expense. At the same time, assistance programs are operational in the Zaporizhzhia region that provide support to affected citizens, but the situation remains extremely complicated due to active military actions and constant shelling.
