U.S. President Barack Obama announced his intention to leave office after 8 years in power and to be ready for change. Reuters reports this.
“I have always said that I do not plan to hold this position forever. We have a system where people come and go, and that is a very good thing. As a nation, we have the right to new leadership,” Obama said.
The President stated that the next leader of the U.S. should be a woman. Obama believes that only a woman will be able to better understand the issues faced by women and girls.
“Women who work in our country must have the same rights as men. There is a lot of work to be done, and I want to see progress in this direction,” he added.
