Postponement from mobilization starting November 1: who has the right and how to apply online.
According to inkorr.com: Ukrainians have been informed about which categories of individuals can obtain a postponement from mobilization due to family circumstances. Starting November 1, new rules outlined in Law No. 3543 'On Mobilization Training and Mobilization' come into effect. Now one can use the online service or visit the administrative services center to apply for a postponement, without the need for a personal visit to the territorial recruitment center. There is also the possibility to track the status of the application through the mobile app 'Reserve+'. Automatic extensions of postponements are also possible without repeated visits to the recruitment center.
Categories of citizens eligible for postponement
The new rules apply to men who have grounds for postponement due to family circumstances. Here are the categories that can take advantage of this right:
According to Article 23 of Law No. 3543, citizens who have the following grounds are not subject to mobilization:
- Raising three or more children under 18 years old;
- Having a child with a disability of any group or a seriously ill child under 18;
- Being a single parent;
- Being guardians or foster parents of an orphan;
- Caring for seriously ill relatives, a wife, or parents with disabilities of I-II groups;
- Being parents of children whose mothers are serving in the Armed Forces;
- Having relatives who died or went missing as a result of hostilities.
Documents and duration of the postponement
Each category has a separate set of documents required, as well as different durations of postponement. For example, parents of three or more children may receive postponement provided they document their material support for the family. Postponement in the case of caring for parents is possible if they have disabilities of I–II groups or require constant care.
Changes in legislation simplify the process of obtaining a postponement from mobilization due to family circumstances, allowing this procedure to be carried out online or through the administrative services center. This makes the process more accessible and convenient for citizens who are entitled to a postponement from conscription.
