On the Pokrovsk direction, the Doomsday Dugout was destroyed: how artillerymen work under FPV

According to ТСН: The Pokrovsk direction remains one of the most active on the front. Every artillery shot is of great importance to save the infantry in the trenches. TSN correspondent Daria Nazarova visited the positions of the 152nd separate brigade, where she had the opportunity to observe the work of the crew of the 152-mm howitzer "Msta-B".

The road of life under the FPV's sight

The way to the artillerymen passes through the famous stele of Donetsk region. What was once considered a safe rear has now become a dangerous route, where the sky is literally filled with enemy drones.

"As our interceptors go to work, so do their strike ones. Here begins a real meat grinder,” says a soldier with the pseudonym "Kostyl".

To survive, the fighters dug a dugout by hand for two weeks, which became their "dome", decorated with chandeliers with quotes from Shevchenko. Here they value moments of coziness, but always keep their ears sharp: going outside without urgent need is prohibited.

"Msta-B": 152mm caliber against enemy assaults

The main element at this position is the towed howitzer "Msta-B". Every day, this cannon destroys enemy equipment, shelters, and manpower.

"We aim, we work effectively," says a fighter with the pseudonym "Vnuk".

They focus on counter-battery combat. Artillerymen feel the pressure from enemy guns and try to reduce their impact on our positions. They have to work under the accompaniment of the sounds of enemy FPVs circling within a radius of two kilometers in search of targets.

From infantryman to gunner: the story of "Odyssey"

One of the crew members, known by the pseudonym "Odyssey", has been participating in combat actions since the first days of the full-scale invasion. He began his journey in the infantry, so he understands the value of an accurate artillery shot well.

"When I was in the infantry, I relied on artillery cover. I prayed that the guys would give a "sighting". Now I am on this side and do everything possible to make it easier for our guys," shares "Odyssey", preparing powder for the next shot.

Hunting for the "Doomsday Dugout"

This time, aerial reconnaissance identified the position of Russian mortar teams on the outskirts of Pokrovsk. The team shouted "Cannon!", there was a short flash, a fire exit — and the Mavic confirms: the enemy mortar was destroyed.

The artillerymen dream of destroying the so-called "Doomsday Dugout", where Russian drones are located. This is one of their priority targets.

"That would be a very valuable target. We hope to find and confirm the coordinates. One shot like that could stop an entire assault," notes "Kostyl".
