Germany does not rule out the deployment of troops in NATO countries near Ukraine: condition.
According to ТСН: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz did not rule out the possibility of deploying Bundeswehr units in one of the NATO countries bordering Ukraine in the event of a prolonged ceasefire.
He expressed this opinion at the 'Coalition of the Willing' summit in Paris, noting that after a year of adhering to the silence regime, various scenarios for further actions may be considered.
Common Strategy
According to Merz, the United States and coalition members currently have a common strategic goal - to determine what contribution Europe along with partners can make to support Ukraine after the fighting ends.
He emphasized that the countries of the 'Coalition of the Willing' are focused on fulfilling their obligations and are ready to consider a wide range of options within the framework of collective decisions regarding the security of the region.
New Declaration
It is noteworthy that Ukraine, France and Britain signed a declaration on the deployment of Western forces. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that immediately after reaching a peace agreement, the deployment of British and French armed forces in Ukraine is planned to ensure stability and strengthen security guarantees.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky characterized the new Paris Declaration as 'very specific', emphasizing that it demonstrates the coalition's and European states' readiness to work towards achieving peace.
In the current situation, it is essential for partner countries to continue supporting Ukraine on its path to stability and security. The joint actions described in the recent declaration may become crucial for the region's future, especially amidst ongoing conflict. It is important that this cooperation is based on the real interests and needs of all participants in the process.
