In the Odesa region, there was a case where a serviceman of the State Border Guard Service was convicted for refusing to carry out a combat order during wartime. The sergeant, who admitted his guilt, explained his actions by stating that he did not want to leave his young children without a father.
According to materials from the Unified State Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, it is known that the 35-year-old serviceman refused to perform a combat order, which involved marching from the city of Izmail to the Sumy region as part of the operation UВ 'Kursk'.
The soldier announced this in the presence of several officers, explaining that he wanted to live and raise his children so that they would not experience the same as he did in his childhood.
During the court hearing, the sergeant admitted his guilt and expressed remorse. He noted that he was aware of the possible consequences but thought about the future of his family and his own life. The court decided to imprison him for 5 years, noting the fairness of the defendant's remorse and the fact that he has two children to support.
