Russians struck an American factory in Ukraine: what is known about the consequences of the attack.
According to The Sun: Russians bombed an American factory during a large-scale blitz attack on Ukraine, resulting in one death and 23 injuries.
The attack was one of the largest strikes carried out by Moscow and occurred less than a week after Putin met with Trump at peace talks.
Russian forces launched at least 574 drones and a barrage of rockets at western Ukraine. Some strikes were aimed at Flex Ltd, an American company and one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the world.
Russians struck their factory covering 55,000 square meters in Mukachevo in the Transcarpathian region, which has been operating since 2012. The factory employs more than 2,600 people, reports The Kyiv Independent.
Accusations and Reactions
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the strikes were aimed at enterprises of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, including drone factories, weapons depots, missile silos, and locations where Ukrainian military units are assembled.
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of virtually destroying an American company that produces household appliances, not military ones.
He said: 'Russians knew exactly where they were throwing missiles. We believe this was a deliberate attack on American property and investments in Ukraine. This was an outright departure when the whole world expects a clear response from Russia in negotiations aimed at stopping the war.'
International Efforts for Peace
Washington is now trying to secure a one-on-one agreement with Putin. Pressure is mounting on Putin to meet with Zelensky after the summit at the White House, but recent statements from Russia resemble familiar delaying tactics.
Trump hoped to persuade Putin to stop the bloodshed when he met with the dictator in Anchorage.
However, since then, little has been done in the direction of an agreement for peace. Trump's patience with Putin is wearing thin, and the president acknowledges that there is a possibility that the military aggressor 'does not want peace.'
After the large-scale bombing of an American factory in Ukraine by Russian forces, accusations and tension between Ukraine and Russia arose. International efforts to achieve peace appear to be only partially effective, leaving the parties still seeking compromise.Read also
