‘Fighting with hands tied’: Kuleba appeals to the West after morning attack by Russia.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on Western partners to reconsider restrictions on strikes on Russian territory following a missile attack by Russia on Ukraine on September 2. Yesterday, Russia launched 35 missiles and 23 drones on Ukrainian territory, including North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles.
Kuleba noted that Ukraine is forced to fight with its hands tied behind its back, as aggressors have no restrictions, while Ukraine is limited in its means of self-defense. He urged the West to lift restrictions on Ukraine's 'legitimate right to self-defense under the UN Charter,' particularly emphasizing the right to strike at military targets on Russian territory.
The minister also highlighted the threat of military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, pointing to the possible negative impact on security in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. He called on Asian partners to consider increasing military assistance to Ukraine, as this would make Europe and Asia more stable and secure.
During the attack on Kyiv on September 2, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed more than 10 cruise missiles, about 10 ballistic missiles, and one attack drone in the airspace of the capital.
