Former Minister Kuleba Made an Unusual Tattoo.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba decided to get a new tattoo on his arm - an image of the legendary mosaic panel in Mariupol. He published a photo of this tattoo on his Instagram.
The mosaic panel 'Boryviter' was created in 1967 by Alla Horskа. Part of the panel was damaged by an explosion during the siege of Mariupol, but the symbolism of the work remains unchanged - search, joy of life, and aspiration for freedom.
'Boryviter is a falcon that can stay in one place in the air, overcoming the wind... Boryviter for me is a symbol of Ukraine. They can strike us, but they cannot break us, because we always stubbornly fight, even against the wind. So from now on, I will be with Boryviter forever,' wrote Kuleba.
Not the first public figure to choose a tattoo with symbolism is the Canadian ambassador to Ukraine Natalka Tsmok, who chose the female resistance movement symbol 'Evil Mavka', as well as Hollywood actor Sean Penn, who chose the trident for his body. Tattoos have long been a way to express one's convictions and belonging to certain values.
Now the trend of getting tattoos with symbolism is becoming increasingly popular among public figures who want to express their views and support important social movements through art on their body.
