Andre Onana impresses on debut for Trabzonspor: inspiring speech immediately after arrival.
Emotional debut of Andre Onana at Trabzonspor
According to The Sun: Andre Onana impressed fans during his debut match for Trabzonspor by delivering an inspiring speech in the locker room.
The goalkeeper joined the Turkish club on loan from Manchester United after two unsuccessful seasons in England.
Fans warmly welcomed Onana at Trabzon Airport, and shortly after, he was included in the starting lineup for the match against Fenerbahçe in the Süper Lig.
During the game, it became known that the new goalkeeper made a powerful call to his new teammates. In a 35-second video published by Trabzonspor, the 29-year-old goalkeeper energetically delivers a speech in the locker room, and the full match version is available on the club's YouTube channel.
“Let’s go, come on,”
— shouted Onana, after which he received applause as he returned to his spot.
Fans were impressed by his emotional performance, considering he had just joined the team. One supporter noted: “Bro, you have only been through one training session.”
Another added: “Immediately took on leadership responsibilities. I'm happy for him.”
However, one fan reminded of his unsuccessful appearances at Manchester United: “If only his saving abilities were as good as his speaking skills.”
Performance and Intentions
In his debut match, Onana did not start very confidently: he was partly to blame for the goal by Sebastian Szymanski as he failed to save the ball. However, he later managed to raise his game level and even received the man of the match award.
According to sources close to the player, Onana is determined to restore his reputation this season.
He also hinted at his plans to leave his family at home, not moving them to Turkey.
In Andre Onana's debut game, he clearly had much to impress, and his emotions became the admiration of the fans. It is evident that the new Trabzonspor goalkeeper is ready to fight for his place in the team and seeks to prove his worth on the field. How events will unfold further, only time will tell, but he has already taken the first step.
