Kenny Wants to Meet Rooney in the Ring
Kenny is currently preparing for a fight against former Premier League player Curtis Davies at a charity boxing tournament next month. However, he truly dreams of a fight with Rooney.
“He constantly reminds me of that Aguero goal, so I think we need to meet in the ring,” Kenny noted.
Kenny also mentioned that Rooney still reproaches him for conceded goals, emphasizing:
“13 years later he still claims I let those goals in! It seems like I did, but that’s not the case!”
Rooney has already received an offer from Misfits Boxing to step into the ring, but has previously stated he wants to focus on his coaching career without thinking about boxing.
“They reached out to me and asked, but at this moment I want to focus on returning to management, not boxing.”
Kenny's Training and Charity Fight
Kenny shared how selfless training for the fight against Davies has helped him:
“For eight weeks I trained, boxing four to five times a week, and during this time I lost over 10 kilograms – that’s a great achievement.”
He also emphasized that the fight on October 18 will support charitable projects involving other former professionals.
