According to The Sun: Wayne Rooney expressed concern over the crisis at Manchester United.

The legendary striker noted that he wants his children to see the club at the top again.

Wayne Rooney mentioned that his children do not know what it means to win Manchester United

Rooney, who is 39 years old, has won numerous titles with Manchester United, including five Premier League titles.

Eight years after his last match with the team, the situation has significantly worsened, and the club is facing serious difficulties.

The team recently lost to Brentford 1-3 and found themselves in 14th place in the Premier League table.

Rooney expressed that he doesn’t recognize the club anymore and blamed the players for a lack of character and desire to win.

On his show, he mentioned great players of the past, like Roy Keane and Paul Scholes, who could reflect the true essence of the club.

He noted: “Put Roy Keane in the middle of this dressing room... put Paul Scholes in the middle of this dressing room.”

When asked if he would join the team, the club legend replied: “I would go in there right now.”

His biggest concern is that his children have not seen the club win.

Kai, 15 years old, has been playing in the club's youth team since 2020, while Clay, 12 years old, is also part of Manchester United's youth squad.

Rooney clarified: “I didn't grow up a Manchester United fan, I was an Everton supporter.”

“But I have spent a lot of time with the football club, my family, my two children are now in this club.”

“I have a connection with this club for over 20 years, and what we see now is very painful.”

Rooney added: “Only my oldest son has seen Manchester United win a Premier League title.”

“My children do not know what the success of Manchester United means. I want them to see it.”

“The culture of this club has disappeared. I see it every day.”

“I see people losing their jobs, as people leave their jobs.”

“I have two children [in the academy] in this club, and I really hope it does not affect their performance.”

“What I see in this club is not Manchester United.”

Next Saturday, United will host Sunderland at Old Trafford in hopes of a positive result.

This match will take place on the eve of the anniversary when one of Manchester United's fans began his challenge, refusing to cut his hair until the team wins five matches in a row.
