Wayne Rooney's Thoughts on Liverpool's Victory

According to The Sun: Wayne Rooney left his wife Coleen outside when Liverpool won the Premier League in 2020.

Rooney and Coleen met in school in Merseyside and married in 2008 after six years of dating, despite their differing football loyalties.

Football Preferences and Dynamics in Marriage

Wayne, 39, grew up in a family of die-hard Everton fans and spent a total of nine years at the club, alongside 13 successful seasons at Manchester United.

Coleen, also 39, is a passionate Liverpool supporter and doesn't hide her preferences, even though her husband is a legend of Everton and Manchester United.

This has led to amusing situations when Wayne shared how after Liverpool's latest Premier League win, Coleen hung Liverpool flags all over their home.

“When Liverpool won the Premier League a few years ago, I came home, was at Derby, and Coleen had Liverpool flags outside the house,” Wayne shared on his podcast The Wayne Rooney Show.

“It was our old house, so by the front door was a small balcony, and the flag was hanging outside the window, so I told her to take it down. She went and actually had to climb out of the window to take it down, so I locked her out...”

The funny situation didn't last long, as Wayne eventually let Coleen back into the house.

Subsequent Events and Memories

This didn't stop her family, as five years later, Liverpool won another title, leveling with United in the number of league titles won.

This story surfaced against the backdrop of the Merseyside derby, where Everton will visit Anfield. Wayne doesn’t have the best memories of this match, as he never won in seven of his appearances, losing three times.
