Amazon launches Prime Vision for the Champions League: how it works.
According to The Sun: Amazon has presented a new unique way to enjoy Champions League broadcasts this season.
The Prime Video service is launching the “Prime Vision” feature, which starts TODAY during the match between Tottenham and Villarreal.
Amazon PrimeAmazon will again broadcast one match per week in the Champions League.
The new feature will allow viewers to track the game and monitor statistics in a “Fifa”-like style.
What is Amazon's Prime Vision feature?
Users who enable Prime Vision will be able to see a wealth of real-time statistics overlaid on the match video.
A field map will appear on the screen, showing the positions of all 22 players.
AI-based features will also indicate who has the ball and what previous passing options they had.
Additionally, viewers will see players' running speeds during movement.
Long passes, shot speeds, goal probabilities (XG), and other data about the flow of the game will also be displayed.
Prime created this system based on analytics used in NFL live broadcasts during “Thursday Night Football.”
What did Prime Video representatives say?
Andrew Hornet, Prime's live production director, explained:
“We wanted to provide viewers with something that innovates with purpose, rather than just looks attractive.“This is an alternative that does not disrupt the main viewing but offers a new perspective.
“This is something unique to European football and designed for fans who are really interested in tactics but without excessive detail.“We know this may not appeal to everyone, but we strive to create something that truly enhances the perception of what fans can see.”
