Medvedev Withdraws from Semifinal in Beijing
According to The Sun: Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev was forced to withdraw from the semifinal match of the China Open against Lirner Tien, accusing the referee of trying to 'intimidate' him.

Daniil Medvedev accused the referee of intimidation AlamyReasons for Withdrawing from the Match
Medvedev suffered from cramps for most of the match and was unable to return balls that were out of reach.
For 'lack of effort,' he received a warning when his opponent made a precise shot to the center of the court.
The Russian tennis player began arguing with the referee and asked:
“You are not talking now.”
The competition manager tried to intervene, but Medvedev continued to express his thoughts. He shouted:
“Do you really want me to withdraw? Tell the guys and the cameras that you want me to withdraw. I am trying to give my all, so why the hell are you saying that I am not giving my all?”
He also added:
“Who are you to decide for me? Who are you? What is your name?”
Medvedev emphasized once again:
“Why does every referee in the world try to intimidate me? I didn’t say a word. After the US Open, I am trying to be good, and this guy is doing this? Shouldn’t I behave well?”
The match ended poorly, and Medvedev left the court after two more games.
Tien in the Finals
Thus, 19-year-old Tien reaches the ATP Tour final for the first time. On Wednesday, he will face world number one Jannik Sinner.
This situation has become quite controversial, highlighting the importance of having clear rules and procedures in competitions at this level. Medvedev, known for his emotions on the court, has faced conflicts with referees before. Tien's next match promises to be interesting as he faces one of the best tennis players in the world.
