Who is Amy Hunt?
Amy Hunt, born on May 15, 2002, is a British sprinter from Nottinghamshire.
She gained fame after setting a new world record (22.24 seconds) for the 200 meters among girls under 18 in Mönchengladbach, Berlin, in the summer of 2019.
The talented athlete became the European champion in the 200 meters and 4x100 meters at the youth competitions.
However, her path to professional athletics was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and a serious leg injury in 2022 forced her off the track for several months.
Despite this, Hunt returned to competitions at the end of 2022, and in 2024, she finished third at the Diamond League in Stockholm.
She also made it to the women's Great Britain team in the 4x100-meter relay, which won gold at the European Championship in Rome, and at the British Championship, she finished second in the 100 meters.
These successes allowed Hunt to secure a place in the Great Britain team at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, where she helped win a medal in the 4x100 meter relay.
Now, a year later, Hunt has impressed everyone by taking second place in the women's 200 meters final at the World Athletics Championship.

In 2020, Hunt began her undergraduate studies at Cambridge University.
She graduated with a degree in English in 2023, becoming an alumna of Corpus Christi.
Hunt shared her thoughts on graduating, stating:
“I chose Cambridge to get a degree, partly for myself, to take pride in it, but also to show other young female athletes that you should not neglect education.”
“You can be both an academic genius and an athlete.”
This led to delays in her training, and she only began practice in June 2023.
However, she finished fifth in the final of the 100 meters at the British Championship and was part of the winning U23 Great Britain team in the 4x100 meter relay in Espoo, Finland.
