McLaughlin-Levrone is a sprint and hurdle running star, born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on August 7, 1999.
She has competed in three Olympic Games and has won four gold medals.
McLaughlin-Levrone attended her first Olympics at 17, reaching the semifinals in the hurdle race at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
At that time, she became the youngest Olympian to compete in track and field for Team USA since 1972.
She won her first gold medals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, triumphing in the hurdles and the 4x400m relay.
Four years later, in Paris, she repeated this success, adding two more gold medals in the same events.
At the Paris competition, she also set a new world record in the 400m hurdles, completing the distance in an impressive time of 50.37 seconds.
She is now continuing to break records in another discipline - the 400m run, shattering the 19-year-old American record held by Sanya Richards-Ross.
McLaughlin-Levrone completed the distance in 48.29 seconds at the 2025 World Athletics Championships, 0.41 seconds faster than the previous record.
Now she plans to set another world record, aiming to beat Marita Koch's achievement, which has stood for 40 years - 47.60 seconds in the final on Thursday.
