Changes in Manchester United's defense

According to The Sun: In all seven matches this season, Ruben Amorim has made changes to the lineup of central defenders.

When Manchester United fans in the stands at Fulham chanted: "Attack, attack, attack," Amorim chose a defensive tactic.

Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw gave way to Harry Maguire and Aiden Heaven.

Maguire was close to scoring the winning goal in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw, but the fans' reaction to the team's tactics raised discontent towards Amorim.

No matter the score, the team plays in a 3-4-2-1 formation. In the match against Brentford, Maguire, Shaw, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, and Diogo Dalot were on the field.

It is not recommended to change the defensive line during a game unless it is due to urgent necessity, but Amorim has already changed central defenders ten times, and all his substitutions were his own decision.

This forces Mason Mount to play on the left flank for the second time this season.

Gary Neville: "You can't put Mason Mount at left back. I can't watch him play there."

Defender substitutions began last season. Amorim attempted to change at least one defender in all but one of the last 15 matches from last season.

The only exception was the Europa League final when the team sought new power reinforcements to play against Tottenham's compact defense.

Maguire was given a special training program in the preseason, where in one of the four friendly matches, he played the first half on the field.

Additionally, only in the match against Grimsby did he play a full 90 minutes and scored from a set piece.

However, his substitution in the second half during the match against Chelsea raised questions. Amorim had previously emphasized the threats from Chelsea's crosses.

Changes in the defensive lineup have apparently caused regular fluctuations in the central defense. Leny Yoro was substituted in three of four starts as the 19-year-old player needs to adapt to the league's intensity after an injury.

Shaw, who is 30 years old, often suffers from injuries, so he now plays as a central defender as he cannot cope with the workload of a winger position.

Only de Ligt has managed to play a full 90 minutes in all six Manchester league matches.

Two No. 1s in Man City, three No. 2s in United

One of Manchester United's biggest problems last season was that almost every league team had a better striker, notes Samuel Luckhurst.

Now almost every club is trying to find a better goalkeeper.

United has brought in new goalkeepers but cannot yet boast of stability.
