Circumstances of the Dismissal
Referee Jarred Gillett initially showed Carlos Baleba a yellow card for a later blow on Hwan Hee Chan. He then turned to the Wolverhampton bench, where Pereira received a red card for kicking the ball towards the bench.
It is not entirely clear whether the reason for the dismissal was the ball kicking or his words.
Pereira seemed shocked by the referee's decision, remaining motionless for a moment before leaving the technical area.
Team's Reaction
After the dismissal, Wolverhampton quickly adjusted to the situation and took the lead: Marshall Munetsi's goal found the net after a deflection off the crossbar and the back of goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
The goal was recognized ONE MINUTE after Pereira's dismissal.
