Midlife Crisis at Work: Why Ukrainians Dream of Changing Careers After 50.
Desire for a Career Change
According to The Sun: Employees are increasingly contemplating a career change, and research has shown that the average age of these individuals is 53 years. The reasons for this include low flexibility, issues with management, and a lack of job satisfaction. In a study involving 2000 adults, 52% of respondents admitted that they would like to change their profession.
Reasons for Change
Among the main reasons prompting people to change are:
- bore-out - 25%
- poor work-life balance - 23%
- mental health issues - 21%
“Many people feel that their work is unfulfilling and places too great a burden on their lives,” the researchers noted.
These results highlight the importance of creating a comfortable working environment that meets employees' needs. It is time for organizations to pay attention to their employees' issues to maintain their productivity and health. This could be the key to increasing overall job satisfaction and reducing employee turnover, which in turn will positively affect the success of companies.
