50% Discount on Train Fares from October 1: Who Is Eligible.
According to inkorr.com: Starting from October 1, 2025, certain categories of passengers will be able to take advantage of significant discounts on railway tickets. According to the Rules for the Transportation of Passengers by Railway in Ukraine, a 50% discount on domestic tickets will be valid until May 15 of the following year, reports Novyny.Live.
Who Can Obtain Discounts
Among those eligible for a 50% or free travel are victims of Nazi persecution, persons with disabilities due to war, as well as children and accompanying persons. To receive the discount, one must have the appropriate certificate confirming the right to subsidized travel.
Other Categories That Will Receive Discounts
Throughout the year, discounts will also be available for children, students, combatants, and parents of military personnel. Seasonal benefits are designed to help reduce citizens' expenses during the autumn-winter period when the need for travel may increase.
The government has introduced discounts on railway tickets for certain categories of citizens to enhance their transport accessibility and reduce costs. This will allow eligible passengers to save on travel, positively affecting their social status and quality of life.
The introduction of such discounts has been a response to the growing needs of the population for convenient and accessible transportation. This decision underscores the importance of supporting socially vulnerable groups of the population, who may increasingly use railway transport during a period of rising fares.
