Entry Ban to Ukraine - Who May Be Denied at the Border.
Foreigners and stateless persons intending to visit Ukraine should be attentive to the border rules. The News.LIVE website reported on the possibility of an entry ban to the country next year.
Who is Subject to the Entry Ban
The law 'On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons' establishes the conditions under which foreigners may be refused entry at the border:
- in the interest of national security;
- for the protection of the health of citizens and other persons;
- in case of submission of false data or forgery of documents;
- if the passport or visa does not meet the standards or belongs to another person;
- if the foreigner has violated border regulations;
- if the person has not complied with a court ruling during their previous stay in Ukraine;
- if the person attempted to enter a temporarily occupied territory or a territory of an anti-terrorist operation.
Additionally, information about foreigners who are not entitled to enter Ukraine may be included in a database. The ban may last from 1 to 10 years depending on the circumstances.
What Documents Are Needed for Entry
Ukrainians only need any identification document when crossing the border. Foreigners must carry a foreign passport, visa, documents to confirm the purpose of the visit, as well as sufficient funds and insurance.
It is worth noting that some countries may require a visa to enter Ukraine, which can be checked on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
What Else Ukrainians Should Know
Some categories of foreigners may be sent back from Poland and denied entry to Ukraine. Also, illegal exit abroad does not affect the right to inheritance, except in cases of treason or serious crimes.
