The death of a skier in Dragobrat. A friend revealed the horrifying details of the tragedy.

Tragedy at the Dragobrat ski resort

28-year-old dermatologist Kateryna Ihnatyieva from Kovel in the Volyn region died at the Dragobrat ski resort. Her friend shared details of the tragedy on her Instagram page.

According to her, Kateryna started skiing only a few days before the tragedy. Together with her friend, they were visiting Dragobrat for the first Time. Initially, the girls made several descents on one slope and then moved to another slope using the lift.

At the lift, there was complete chaos. There was an operator who was supposed to coordinate the process, but he only activated the lift and didn't provide any instructions. Kateryna tried to get on the lift several times, but without success. The operator was supposed to stop her, but that didn't happen.

The friend recounts that she saw Kateryna holding onto the lift with one hand and literally crawling on the ground. Eventually, she let go of the lift and died from hitting a metal fence. It was established that Kateryna got on the lift incorrectly at the very beginning, but the operator did not intervene.

The authorities have opened a criminal investigation under part 2 of article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Additionally, another tragedy occurred in Lviv region - a 12-year-old boy who was skiing died.
