According to the Law of Ukraine 'On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection', combat participants are entitled to a number of benefits:
- free prescription medicines;
- free prosthetics out of turn;
- assistance in case of temporary incapacity for work;
- annual leave with salary retention;
- 75% discount on housing and communal services;
- 75% discount on fuel for individuals without central heating;
- free public transport;
- priority right to employment and housing;
- early retirement;

In 2025, some combat participants will receive monetary payments from the state directly in August. Legislation regarding the protection of military personnel and their families has also been updated, providing new benefits for servicemen.
